he Nagpur Municipal Corporation intensified efforts to restore Ambazari Lake ahead of the monsoon, removing invasive water hyacinth and addressing untreated sewage inflows. Nearly 40 per cent of the lake has already been cleared as part of a broader urban ecosystem restoration initiative. Officials say the project aims to improve water quality, reduce flood risks, revive aquatic biodiversity and transform the lake into a healthier urban wetland. Environmental experts view the effort as an example of how Indian cities are increasingly investing in nature-based solutions to tackle pollution, water management challenges and climate resilience while enhancing urban green spaces.
